Susan G. Komen Foundation

Because breast cancer is common in woman over 55, it is imperative that all women get mammograms.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation strives to raise money and educate people about breast cancer through global events and legislative actions. When Susan Komen died of breast cancer, her sister Nancy started the foundation in her memory. Since its inception in 1982, it has invested more than $1.9 billion and helped countless women and their families band together, share their stories and search for a cure. The North Jersey Komen affiliate has given over $10 million to local organizations in the nine-county service area, letting women know that “early detection is the best protection.”
