Lunch NYC Helps New Yorkers find Fresh Hotspots & Promotes A Fit, Healthy Lifestyle

February 17, 2012 (NYC) – Lunch NYC, executive produced by prominent New York City entrepreneur and philanthropist Avis Richards, was honored with three New York Emmy® Award nominations for best “Community Service,” “Health/Science: Program Feature/Segment” and “Graphics: News/Program.” A weekly series, Lunch NYC is a Birds Nest Foundation™ production that explores healthy restaurants and hotspots throughout NYC. Each week, audiences learn quick and inexpensive ways to improve their diet and live healthier lifestyles, one lunch at a time.

“I am absolutely thrilled that the show was nominated. It’s an honor to be included with the other extraordinary programs in these categories,”  said Executive Producer Avis Richards.

Lunch NYC is supported by the City of New York Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting. The program emerged after the successful reception of Richards’ short documentary, LUNCH, which exposed unhealthy foods being served in the public school system across the country.
